About Amy

Amy Peek grew up in Denver, Colorado and earned a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has completed the Certificate of Chinese Herbal Medicine program at Daoist Traditions College of Oriental Medicine in Asheville, NC. Amy is nationally certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, certified in Clean Needle Technique, and licensed by the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board.

Amy believes that each person is unique and that health and health care should never take a one-size-fits-all approach. Using acupuncture within the framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine allows Amy to assess each patient in a holistic manner, taking in to account not only health challenges but also the challenges each person faces in day-to-day life.

One of the beautiful things about Traditional Chinese Medicine is that it meets the individual patient where they are in life. In addition, this approach to wellness invites the person to participate in creating their own optimal health by recommending small lifestyle changes that can sometimes have profound effects on overall health and well-being.

Chinese medicine works from the point of view that outward symptoms are often signs of a deeper disharmony or underlying root problem. With this perspective in mind, Amy partners with patients to alleviate symptoms while also treating the root cause. Acupuncture treatments have almost zero negative side effects and can be used in tandem with Western medical and other treatments.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can be used to treat or complement the treatment of any disease or ailment, as it is focused on creating balance in the whole body. This ancient medicine has been used for more than two millennia, and its popularity is only growing as Western science continues to test and confirm its efficacy.
